St. Brigid Youth Ministry is committed to the reality that young people are an important and integral part of our parish community.
We affirm the gifts of our youth and we foster opportunities for young people to share their gifts with the larger community. The spiritual and social needs of the youth are to be met with the committed leadership, guidance, and support of our parish adults. Through a variety of programs, events, and outreach, we seek to draw young people into responsible participation in the life, work, and mission of the parish community.
The goals of youth ministry at St. Brigid are to:
1. To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
2. To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
3. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

J.A.M (Jesus & Mission)
J.A.M meets once a week with the purpose to plan and provide teens with opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ by challenging them to live for Him through inspiring talks and dynamic music. Events include mini-retreats, once-a-month Friday night gatherings, and lock-ins that allow high school and middle school youth to communicate their faith in God with one another.
Summer Mission Project
Our Mission Project is a week-long summer project bringing youth together to learn about social justice and perform community service city-wide.
Steubenville’s Youth Conferences
These conferences are focused in bringing high school students into a life changing relationship with God and serving those who serve them. These conferences are specialized to address the resources and needs of today’s Catholic youth, organized on a national level. With an exciting lineup of speakers, musicians, and presenters, the High School Youth Conferences will challenge Catholic youth to stand firm in their faith; rely upon the awesome power of Jesus Christ who is their guide, friend and Savior; and, to show that faith to the world.
A peer-designed retreat that focuses on building a deeper relationship with God and fellow parishioners through Adoration, Community, Theology and Service.
Annually, along with ALPHA for Adults and Young Adults, this event begins the last Wednesday of May. This course is designed specifically for youth. So, if you are looking for more in your life, come to this 12-week program. It is a combination of video presentations and small group discussions, where questions of life and faith are discussed and great conversations take place. It is free to all.
For more information regarding this faith-building program, please call Nora Ruiz at 210-696-0896, ext. 208.
These consist of city-wide events scheduled by the Youth Connected office for the Catholic Center of Charismatic Renewal and the Youth Office of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center. The objective of these events is to bring all the youth of San Antonio together.
On the first Sunday of the month, the 12:30 Mass is youth-oriented. Because of this, youth are invited to serve as Mass Greeters, Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers, with music geared toward youth. If you are interested in serving at this liturgy, please contact Cathy Tucker at 210-696-0896, ext. 207.
