Prayer & Adoration
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel is open at various times during the week for personal prayer and adoration of the Eucharist.
You are encouraged to utilize the various forms of prayer, from meditation to the many prayers of the church. Please feel free to visit our Parish Library for its resources. Music is welcome, ie. MP3s, smart phones, etc., with use of earphones.
We also have a Weekly Prayer List that is updated on most Fridays. It is located on the Parish Life tab and on bulletin boards throughout the church premises. To add your name or your loved ones name to the list, please feel free to call the parish office during business hours.
At St. Brigid, we offer various forms and times for prayer and adoration. Below are just a few of these prayerful events:
Divine Mercy Ministry
The devotionals outlined in the Diary of St. Faustina are studied and practiced on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm. We meet in McKenna Building, Room 203 (2nd Thursday of the month: Blessed Sacrament Chapel).
In 1935, St. Faustina received a vision of an angel sent by God to chastise a certain city. She began to pray for mercy but her prayers were powerless. Until she saw the Holy Trinity and felt the power of Jesus’ grace within her. Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer.
Come join us for an evening of prayers, readings of Sacred Scripture, study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and share the Diary of Saint Faustina, “Divine Mercy In My Soul!”
Please contact Loreta Young for more information at 210-558-4326.
Family Holy Hour
The St. Brigid Family Holy Hour is currently taking place in the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm on Thursday evenings. We invite you to join us! Come be in the true presence of Jesus with fellow friends and family, and be gently guided in an hour of song, prayer, and adoration ending with Benediction.
Guadalupanos Communion Sunday & Rosary
Every 2nd Sunday of the month, the Guadalupano Society of St. Brigid pays special devotional honor to Our Lady of Guadalupe by attending the 8:00 am Mass together. They also recite a special rosary after the 8:00 am Mass.
Healthy Baby Prayer Ministry
Prayers are offered for expectant parents and baby by a dedicated group of persons who pray from the sacredness of their homes.
For more information about this ministry, to be a part of it, or to receive prayers and comfort along the way, you may contact Debra Schneider at the parish office at 210-696-0896, ext. 209.
Perpetual Adoration
Please note: During this time of Coronavirus, Perpetual Adoration is available in the Juleen Chapel between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm every day.
In normal times, the Blessed Sacrament Chapel is open 6:00 am to 8:00 pm during the week for personal prayer and adoration of the Eucharist. Perpetual Adoration takes place from Sunday after the 12:30 pm Mass through Saturday at 4:30 pm.
There are sign-up slips in the Narthex and chapel areas, if you are interested in committing to one hour per week of adoration in the presence of Jesus. To sign up, you may fill out a form and place it in the basket provided.
If you are already an adorer and, for some reason, you need to reschedule your holy hour, please contact your Hourly Captain. A listing is located at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
During the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am, church/chapel doors are locked for the safety of our adorers. For everyone’s safety, security cameras are installed in several areas of the premises including the chapels and parking lot.
To sign-up and spend one hour with Jesus, please email Cathy Tucker at CathyTucker@stbrigidcc.org and put ‘Adoration’ in the Subject Line.

Rosary Prayer Groups
The Rosary familiarizes the hearts and minds of the faithful with the Mysteries of Christ.
In normal times, the Monday Night Rosary Group comes together in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on most Monday evenings at 7:00 pm to pray for vocations to the priesthood and an end to abortion. Come join us as we pray for life, especially for the unborn.
To be a part of this group, please call Debra Schneider at the Parish Office at 210-696-0896, ext. 209.
