
Senior Opportunities
At St. Brigid, in addition to the Morning Mass (or Communion Service on Thursday mornings) and daily rosary, there are many and various ministries that our older parishioners and wider community can participate in.
These ministries are listed by day of the week to make planning to attend easier to manage in today’s busy schedule. If you need further information, please call the person listed or the Parish Office during normal business hours.
SUNDAYS
CAFE Y PAN DULCE This is a gathering of bilingual parishioners that meetup after the Sunday 8:00 am Liturgy. Their study consists of reflections on the Sunday Lectionary Readings. Participants are welcome to share their favorite dishes or traditions.
MONDAYS
DAILY ROSARY This group that comes together to pray the Rosary after the 8:00 am Mass or Communion service, Monday through Friday, in the Day Chapel. The Rosary familiarizes the hearts and minds of the faithful with the Mysteries of Christ.
LEGION OF MARY This Catholic organization, with over 10 million members around the world, is dedicated to evangelization and devoted to our Blessed Mother in her mission of bringing souls closer to Jesus. Legion members take Holy Communion to nursing homes, teach Faith Formation, visit families, pray, and go door to door. A group meets at St. Brigid each Monday evening at 6:30 pm. You are encouraged and welcome to join us.
ROSARY PRAYER GROUP This group meets in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on Mondays at 7:00 pm to pray for vocations to the priesthood and an end to abortion.

BIBLE STUDY The Tuesday morning Bible Study group meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 am. While the focus is usually on the Sunday Lectionary readings and shared discussion, the topic may vary according to the liturgical season. WEDNESDAYS
WRITING WITH ANGELS This writing group, open to anyone interested in spiritual writing, meets on Wednesdays, 10:00 am-1:00 pm. For more information about being a part of this writing group, please contact Mary Olivia Patiño at 210-558-1302.
ST. BRIGID’S LEARNING WELL This study offers various programs, usually in a series of videos and discussion, with guidance from some of the world’s most trusted teachers in the Catholic faith. Through these studies, including The Bible Timeline, Symbolon and more, we learn about our Catholic faith through Scripture, the Bible timeline, church history, and more. A session takes place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Fall and the Spring. For more information, please call Debra at the parish office at ext. 209.

DIVINE MERCY MINISTRY In 1935, St. Faustina received a vision of an angel sent by God to chastise a certain city. She began to pray for mercy but her prayers were powerless. Until she saw the Holy Trinity and felt the power of Jesus’ grace within her. Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer. The Divine Mercy Ministry meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the McKenna Building (second Thursdays in the Day Chapel). Please contact Loreta Young for more information at 210-558-4326.
YOUNG AT HEART On the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 am, a strictly social group of parishioners over the age of 50 gather for a morning of games and fellowship. THAT MAN IS YOU This study group for the men of St Brigid meets on Saturday mornings, 6:45–8:45 am, in the Spring and the Fall. This early hour of fellowship gives men new ways to reflect on life and to be better servants of God and to their families.
