Sacramental prepartion for youth, which includes RCIA for Children, RCIA for Youth, and Youth Confirmation (Grades 10-12), falls under the direction of Renee Kuntz, our Director of Faith Formation. RCIA is for those of the age of reason (7 years and older) who seek full initiation into the Catholic Church. RCIA is a gradual process leading to the Easter celebration and the Sacraments of Initiation, whereby one is fully initiated into the Catholic Church.
Recognizing the role of parents/guardians as the primary educators of the domestic church. Parents are required to attend sessions and retreats along with their child.
Confirmation candidates are prepared for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation through scheduled days of reflection and a one-day retreat,"Life in the Spirit."
Prerequisite: Confirmation preparation is open to 10th Graders who have met the prerequisite of being enrolled at least one year prior and presently registered in the Faith Formation component to our Comprehensive Youth Ministry Program with a satisfactory attendance in both.

There are a wide number of activities which you or your youth may want to be involved in; these include spiritual, social, community, and fun elements. Youth Splash usually meets on the fourth Friday of each month, with the purpose of bringing Youth already involved in different ministries to come and celebrate together as one. Check out the Youth Ministry website, link located on the sidebar of this web page, for dates and times.
These consist of city-wide events scheduled by the Youth Connected office for the Catholic Center of Charismatic Renewal and the Youth Office of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center. The objective of these events is to bring youth of all ages in San Antonio together. These events include the Middle School Spectacular and Youth Explosion.
Youth nights meet most Wednesday evenings, incorporating and rotating activities from movie night to adoration to topic night to special themes and more.
Our Mission Project is a week-long summer project, with sister parishes, bringing youth together for community service city-wide.
St. Brigid schedules a retreat for Middle School and High School once a year. These retreats are created age-appropriately with a theme and spiritual message in light of the gospel for the spiritual growth of it youth. These retreats are off-site. New to St. Brigid are Teen ACTS Retreats. Annually, teens who have attended a previous retreat come together to minister and lead a new group of teens to Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service.
