These are only some of the opportunities which our older community may participate in. We are here to help make your experience and participation in the St. Brigid parish community a rewarding and satisfactory one, so do not hesitate to inquire about these opportunities. To find out more about any one of these, or to ask about others that may be available, please call the parish office at (210)696-0896.

Young At Heart

On the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m., a strictly social group of parishioners over the age of 50 gather for a morning of games and fellowship. At noon, a potluck lunch is shared. Sometimes field trips are planned.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

The Tuesday Morning Bible Study group meets on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 a.m. While the focus is usually on the Sunday Lectionary readings and shared discussion, the topic may vary according to the liturgical season.

Cafe y Pan Dulce

This is a gathering of bilingual parishioners after the 8:00 a.m. Liturgy which consists of reflections on the Sunday Lectionary Readings. Participants are welcome to share their favorite dishes or traditions.

Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Parishioners are invited to pray the chaplet of divine mercy in the Day Chapel on Saturdays at 4:15 p.m. before the 5:00 p.m. Mass.

Divine Mercy Ministry

In 1935, St. Faustina received a vision of an angel sent by God to chastise a certain city. She began to pray for mercy but her prayers were powerless. Until she saw the Holy Trinity and felt the power of Jesus' grace within her. Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer. The Divine Mercy Ministry meets on Thursday evenings, please contact Loreta Young for more information about this ministry at (210)558-4326.

Rosary Prayer Group

The Rosary familiarizes the hearts and minds of the faithful with the Mysteries of Christ. There is a group that meets in the Day Chapel, Monday through Friday, to pray the Rosary after the 8:00 a.m. Mass or Communion service. There is also a group that comes together in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. to pray for vocations to the priesthood and an end to abortion.
